Our Youth programs are designed to train and offer various forms of support to youth from the ages of 11-17. Our training is cyclical and rotates every three to four weeks to assist students with attitudinal/behavioral adjustments, character building, relationship building, social skills, self-respect, self-esteem enhancement, and communication skills. We are partnering with Pitt County Schools in hopes of reducing the recidivism rate within our schools systems.
This program endeavors to be a major investor in our youth during one of their most critical stages of life—adolescent to adulthood. During this time, the youth are faced with many challenges that could lead to their demise if adequate training is not provided for them. Our goal is teach them how to make the best choices possible and provide them with adequate information and skills needed in order to make these choices. Issues addressed and processed during this training include:
• “Self Image” (Answering the question: Who Am I really?) • Attitude has everything to do with every thing! • Communication styles at home, school, and in the community • How to make right choices • How to take care of yourself (Physically, Mentally, Socially, Emotionally, and Spiritually) • Emotions (Fear and Anger) • Relationships (Healthy and Unhealthy) • How to handle grief/loss • The need to think correctly • Role Models • Violence • Substance Use/Abuse
